Multiple contact attempts by the site ensures busier patients don't fall through the cracks

A primary driver of patient engagement at Neurobehavioral Research is that the team called 100% of qualified patients* across their Power trials. To reach qualified patients who were often balancing participation in the trial with their own busy schedules, the site made multiple attempts at outreach per patient. For example, in November they made nearly 10 times as many calls as other sites in a schizophrenia trial and offered to message patients as needed.

Calling patients within 24 hours

Neurobehavioral’s commitment to patient outcomes is evident, with the team reaching out to patients within 24 hours of their application being referred to the site. This timely outreach ensures no qualified participant is overlooked and engages patients while the trial is top of mind. Importantly, it led to a better patient experience, as site staff was responsive to questions in the period before a site visit.

This also strengthens trial efficiency, ensuring that quality candidates move swiftly through the enrollment process. Much of the site's success on Power was driven by the Site Staff of the month, Yvette Vega, who will be highlighted next week.

*Qualified patients on Power are patients that qualify based on a pre-screener and have their eligibility verified and profile enriched using electronic medical records, provider notes, voice transcripts and more.
